Incorporated as Srishti Advertising on 23 Jan.'85, Srishti Videocorp (SVL) was promoted by Vandana Jain and V K Jain. SVL has a subsidiary -- Promise Securities and Credits (PSAC). SVL is managed by chairman A S Gupta and managing director Vandana Jain. The company came out with a public issue of 9.38 lac FCD's of Rs 120 aggregating Rs 11.25 cr in Apr.'95. This issue was to part-finance the Rs 29.14-cr project's capital expenditure, advance payment towards satellite transponder, uplink hardware and meet long-term working capital needs.

SVL's main line of business comprises video production and post-production facilities. It is the first company in India to install most advanced digital technology for video image capturing and processing. SVL also started beaming youth entertainment services channel through Intelsat-704 on 17 Jun.'95. This channel has a viewership rating of 40% in cable TV households according to company sources, but this is disputed by investment banker Jardine Fleming.

Major advertisers for whom SVL carries advertisements include Pepsi, LML Vespa, Boost, Mayur, VIP, Vadilal, etc. SVL has also leased out channels to other companies such as Discovery, US. It has also tied up with two major channels to offer cheap set top convertors. It has also entered into a tie-up with Singapore Telecom which grants SVL uplinking rights from Singapore. The subsidiary PSAC makes and exports serials. Foreign exchange earnings in 1993-94 amounted to Rs 0.67 cr.

Future projects of SVL include setting up of a film city at Noida and construction has already started for the building.
