Incorporated as a public limited company in Nov.'94, Micron Chemicals was promoted by Naresh Bansal, Ashwini Kochar, Girish Chander Singhal and Pankaj Misra. In Dec.'94, Pankaj Misra resigned from the Board due to pre-occupation and O P Garg was appointed in his place, in Jan.'95.
The company set up a project to install edible/non-edible refinery and splitting unit with a total installed capacity of 16,500 tpa of raw oil. With this capacity, it produces 3600 tpa of stearic acid, 450 tpa of glycerine, 5700 tpa of fatty acid and 6000 tpa of refined oil. It also gets by-products like pitch (300 tpa), a substitute to furnace oil, and oxygen (86,400 cu mtr).
The project is being implemented at Pancha Gujran, Haryana. It came out with a public issue in Feb.'96 to part-finance its project.
