C.E. Info Systems Limited, popularly known as MapmyIndia and operating globally under the Mappls brand, was originally incorporated as a Private Limited Company as 'C.E. Info Systems Private Limited' in New Delhi on 17 February, 1995. The Company converted from a Private Limited to a Public Limited Company and name of the Company was changed to 'C.E. Info Systems Limited' on 12 July, 2021.

The Company is India's leading provider of advanced digital maps, geospatial software and location-based IoT technologies. The Company provides platforms, products, application programming interfaces (APIs) and solutions across a range of digital map data, software and internet of things (IoT) for the Indian market under the 'MapmyIndia' brand, and for the global market under the 'Mappls' brand. 

Over the years, the Company has evolved into a leading provider of digital mapping, geospatial software, navigation, and location-based
IoT technologies, serving enterprises, automotive OEMs, government organizations, developers, and consumers in India and international
markets. Currently, MapmyIndia is a data-and-technology product and platform company that offers proprietary digital maps as a service (MaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS). 

The Company has been primarily serving the 2 distinct market segments - Consumer Tech and Enterprise Digital Transformation (C&E) and Automotive and Mobility Tech (A&M). Moreover, their offerings can be divided on two fronts - Map led and IoT led.

The Company acquired 100% shareholding of Mappls DT Private Limited on July 31, 2017. Hence the said Company became a wholly owned Subsidiary w.e.f. July 31, 2017. 

The Company launched the initial public offering of 10,063,945 equity shares of face value Rs 2 each by raising funds aggregating to Rs 1039.60 Crore through offer for sale in December, 2021.

The Company acquired 75.98% Shareholding of Gtropy Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 4th February, 2022, making it a Subsidiary of the Company. It acquired 100% shareholding of C.E. Info Systems International Inc. and the said Company became a wholly owned Subsidiary of the Company w.e.f. 6th April, 2018.

During 2022, the Company unified and released one global platform, under brand 'Mappls', including both own map data, as well as map data for more than 200 countries and territories from around the world. It expanded the coverage and capabilities of core foundation map data product, real-time & rich map update service, value-added geo- demographics data sets for analytics & location intelligence, and advanced map data covering 3D, HD and Real-View, pushing further towards their AI-powered Digital Metaverse of the Real World.

In 2023, the Company acquired 20% shareholding of Indrones Solutions Private Limited in tranches on 10th February, 2023 and 16th May, 2023 subsequently. Hence the said Company was made Associate of the Company w.e.f. 16th May, 2023. It launched Mappls RealView and Metaverse Maps.

In 2024-25, Company launched Mappls Brand for Global Appeal; launched Mappls RealView and Metaverse maps. Mappls MapmyIndia was made No.1 in India on App Store across all categories in FY24. The Company has incorporated a JV Company i.e. PT Terra Link Technologies, Indonesia focusing the business in Southeast Asia in FY 2025.

In FY 2026, Company expanded the business by adding over 10 million downloads and pre-installations, taking the cumulative reach of the platform to more than 45 million users. It launched Live Traffic Signal Timer displays in Bengaluru, along with key new features such as Multimodal Public Transport Routing, Picture-in-Picture mode, Dark Theme, 3D Navigation, and Landscape Mode support to solve the urban mobility challenges. It launched Indoor Navigation by partnering with DMRC to the Delhi Metro stations. MapmyIndia integrated India Post's DIGIPIN into the Mappls App, making it one of the first navigation apps in India to support the country's comprehensive Digital Address System. MapmyIndia launched Indic language maps and navigation support across 9 regional languages on its flagship Mappls App.
